Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy from Mississauga in connection with April’s fatal shooting in the tourist area of Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls.

Niagara police were called to the area near the Great Canadian Midway just after 12:30 a.m. on April 8 for reports of multiple gunshots.

Police found three males under the age of 18 suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other males were initially taken to a local hospital but were later airlifted to a trauma centre out of town.

Police have not released the identity of the male killed.

Police say the Mississauga teen was arrested on Tuesday and is facing a slew of charges, including two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, robbery, discharging a firearm with intent, and theft of a motor vehicle.

He cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

At the time, police also said they were looking for a vehicle of interest that was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed. In their latest update, investigators have not said if the vehicle has since been located.

Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with further information to contact them.
