Toronto police are searching for a suspect responsible for vandalizing as many as 21 cars with swastika markings near Alexandra Park, in the Bathurst Street and Dundas Street West area.

Authorities were notified around 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, of several cars being damaged in the Markham Street and Robinson Street neighbourhood.

Swastikas and various other markings were etched onto the paint of these vehicles, police said.

A man is believed to be behind the anti-Semitic vandalism, last seen wearing dark clothing. It’s unclear if the suspect will face hate-crime charges once apprehended, as police call this a mischief investigation.

Investigators are urging other people whose cars may have been damaged similarly to contact them.

Police are also interested in speaking with residents in the area with dashcam or surveillance footage.
