Man wanted for murder in daylight Toronto shooting

Police are searching for a man wanted for first-degree murder in a targeted shooting last week near Toronto’s Moss Park neighbourhood.

Authorities responded to a call in the Shuter and Sherbourne Streets area around noon on Tuesday, July 25.

Duty Insp. Peter Wehby told reporters at the scene that a citizen approached officers about the sound of gunshots in a parking lot.

Insp. Wehby said officers then found a man unresponsive in a car suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have since identified the victim as 36-year-old Mohamed Ahmed of Toronto.

Investigators are searching for 27-year-old Yasir Mohamed of Toronto, who is wanted for first-degree murder.
