Suspect sought after man found with slash wound near Coxwell subway station

Toronto police are searching for a suspect after a slashing in the city’s east end near Coxwell subway station.

Officers were called to the area of Coxwell Avenue and Strathmore Boulevard around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, and upon arrival, found a man with a slash wound to his face.

He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police tell CityNews it appears there was a fight between two men that started in a parkette and continued onto TTC property.

Investigators say the suspect used an unknown weapon to slash the victim’s face.

The suspect fled the scene on foot. Police say he is around six feet tall with a skinny build and black medium-length hair. He was wearing a beige trench coat, black pants and a black toque.
