Man dead after crashing into tree in North York

A man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in North York on Thursday night.

Police say a vehicle struck a tree on Cummer Avenue in the area of Bayview Avenue and Steeles Avenue East around 6:43 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to a nearby trauma centre with life-threatening injuries where he was later pronounced dead.

There was no indication as to what may have led up to the crash.
