18-year-old and 15-year-old charged in armed carjacking of delivery man in Etobicoke

An 18-year-old and 15-year-old were arrested in an alleged armed carjacking of a delivery man in Etobicoke, Toronto police said.

Authorities responded to a carjacking at around 9:30 p.m. on Monday in the Islington Avenue and Finch Avenue West area.

It’s alleged a man parked his vehicle in front of an address to deliver a parcel when two suspects approached him. One suspect allegedly brandished a knife and made a demand for the car keys.

The victim was pushed to the ground, and the two suspects fled in the stolen vehicle. Responding officers were able to locate two male suspects a short time later, and a loaded firearm was located in their possession.

Police said 18-year-old Gene Fisher of Toronto is facing multiple charges, including robbery and unauthorized possession of a firearm, among other related offences. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday morning.

A 15-year-old male youth was also arrested. He’s been charged with similar offences. He, too, was slated to appear in court this morning.

The teenager was not identified by means of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
