Driver escapes mangled vehicle with minor injuries after Hwy. 400 crash

A driver was lucky to escape a totalled vehicle with minor injuries after a three-vehicle crash on Highway 400 near Highway 7 in Vaughan on Monday.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says the crash occurred in the southbound lanes when a car was rear-ended by a tow truck. The car then collided with a pick-up truck that was hauling salt.

The driver of the car was airlifted to hospital, but it was later determined that her injuries were not serious.

The highway was temporarily fully closed to accommodate an ORNGE helicopter.

The southbound lanes were closed at Langstaff but have since reopened.
