Things have gone from bad to worse for the world’s number one golfer.
Rumours are now swirling that Tiger Woods, 33, had an affair with a third woman, Las Vegas night club marketing executive Kalika Moquin.
On Wednesday, 24-year-old Las Vegas cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs announced she had a 31-month long sexual relationship with the married father of two and provided a voice mail message and hundreds of texts to back up her claim. She said she met the golfer in 2007, just two months before his first child was born.
In the message, released by Us Magazine, a man who identifies himself as “Tiger” warns his wife suspects he’s cheating. The authenticity of that message hasn’t been confirmed.
Meanwhile, the alleged first other woman, New York night club hostess Rachel Uchitel, was set to speak out Thursday about her connection to the athlete through her lawyer, but cancelled the press event. While she initially denied reports she had an affair with Woods, she reportedly planned to admit to the relationship.
Her planned announcement comes just one day after Woods issued a statement regarding his extra-marital activities.
“I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone,” he said in a release on his website.
There are reports Woods has offered his wife, 29-year-old Elin Nordegren, $60 million to stay married to him for at least two more years, and the couple has apparently reworked the prenuptial agreement signed in 2004.
And golfer Jesper Parnevik said he feels bad about introducing Nordegren to Woods at the British Open back in 2001. Nordegren was working for Parnevik as a nanny at the time.
The Swedish golfer told the Golf Channel that he feels sorry for Nordegren and thought Woods “was a better guy than he is”. Parnevik said he feels like he owes her an apology.
He also said he hopes she uses a driver instead of a 3-iron next time, referring to the alleged incident earlier this week in which Woods crashed his SUV outside his Florida home.
The golfer denies reports his wife chased him out of the house wielding a golf club. Police said Nordegren used the club to break the back window of the vehicle to pull her husband out. Woods received a $164 ticket for the incident.
