One man has died after a shooting in Brampton Friday morning

By News Staff

Peel police are investigating a fatal shooting in Brampton early Friday morning.

Constable Danny Martini says officers were called to a complex in the area of Queen Street East and Rutherford Road North just before 7 o’clock.

“When we came in behind the buildings, we actually came into a trucking yard, and in that enclosed trucking yard we did locate a male who was suffering from gunshot wounds,” Martini said.

The man in his 30’s was treated on scene, but died of his injuries before paramedics were able to take him to hospital.

No suspect information has been released.

Out of precaution, the Rise and Shine Daycare had been locked down.

The Peel police homicide unit is searching for a suspect.

Police are asking for anyone with information to come forward.

This comes after a string of shootings on Thursday night that left one man dead and several others injured.
