TTC charge woman after operator assaulted

TORONTO, Ont. – Police have arrested a woman and charged with assault, after a TTC operator was spat on and struck.

Asmait Gebre-Yohannes, 35, faces charges of assault and failure to comply with probation.

Investigators allege Asmait Gebre-Yohannes, 35, boarded a streetcar in the King West and Jameson Avenue, Monday evening, and that she refused to pay, spat on and struck the driver before fleeing.
