Crews are on scene helping clean up a major mess on Highway 401 in Durham Region after two transport trucks collided.
The CityNews 680 traffic centre was notified of a crash on the westbound 401 at Highway 115 in Clarington just before noon on Wednesday.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say two tractor-trailers were involved in the crash. One truck was carrying canned goods and the other was carrying wood products.
Images from the scene show one truck with significant front-end damage stopped against the centre median. A second truck is stopped slightly behind and appears to have a badly damaged rear-trailer.
Hundreds of cans can be seen strewn across the highway with the contents emptied onto the pavement.
