Mississauga school briefly evacuated after students break out in rashes

Mineola Public School in Mississauga was evacuated on Thursday after several kindergarten students broke out in rashes during a meet-and-greet with parents.

Peel EMS attended the school at 145 Windy Oaks around 5 p.m. after receiving a call about a student having an allergic reaction. When paramedics showed up they noticed several other children breaking out in rashes.

The children were assessed and sent home and the school was evacuated and closed.

It has since reopened and meet-and-greets are proceeding.

It’s not yet clear if the source of the irritation was found.

Calls to the board were not immediately answered.
