Man Accused Of Assaulting Parking Enforcement Officer

A man is facing two assault charges after allegedly attacking a parking enforcement officer.

Toronto Police say the accused had parked illegally on Lake Shore Boulevard West near Islington Avenue on January 4.

An officer had begun to write a ticket when the man returned to the car and got in. The officer put the note on the windshield and the accused opened his door, striking her.

The officer walked away.

However, police say, the accused followed her, walked up behind her and pushed her.

Francis Tonna, 55, of Brampton, has been charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer.
