Police Probe Yet Another Shooting In The West End

It’s the same neighbourhood and the same problem – brazen gunfire in broad daylight.

Police are investigating yet another shooting in the city in an area that’s becoming increasingly familiar: Eglinton and Keele. Emergency lines were flooded with calls just after 7pm Wednesday, when residents heard the echoing sounds of gunshots.

Cops raced to the scene and found evidence of gunplay but no one shooter and no victim.

A patient with an apparent gunshot wound eventually staggered into Humber River Regional Hospital’s Church St. site with injuries that aren’t believed to be serious.

The circumstances of the shooting aren’t clear but cops are said to be looking for a silver Acura.

It’s the latest instance of violence in 12 Division, which has seen a rash of shootings and stabbings in 2009, including six people being shot at a birthday party and several others gunned down while waiting at bus stops.

See the growing grim list here.
