York University Librarian Charged With Internet Luring

A York University librarian has been charged with luring a child over the internet. Forty-five-year-old Nicholas Pengellley, a chief law librarian at York, was arrested at work on Thursday.

Police monitored the suspect’s behaviour online for quite some time before making an arrest.

An undercover officer apparently posed as a 12-year-old year during the investigation.

“During the conversation, this individual expressed an interest in meeting what he believed was a 12-year-old girl, for some sort of sexual purpose,” reveals Cst. Pete Brandwood.

The internet child exploitation unit fears there may be more victims out there and want to hear from anyone who have had contact with the suspect.
