Shots Fired At OPP During Traffic Stop

A routine traffic stop became anything but in Brampton Friday night.
An OPP officer is lucky to be alive after a man who allegedly didn’t feel like slowing down fired several shots at him.
It happened on Highway 410 near Queen Street. The officer tried to pull over a vehicle that didn’t have any license plates.
But instead of stopping, the driver fled into a residential neighbourhood. In his hurry, he crashed his car.
Before he took off on foot, he allegedly opened fire on the cops.
Peel Police were called in, bringing their tactical and K9 units to help in the search for the wanted man.
The suspect was eventually found hiding in the attic of a relative’s home.
19-year-old Triston McLean from Mississauga faces as many as 15 charges including attempted murder and 16 firearm related offences.
