Collingwood man charged in connection with historical sexual assault

A 67-year-old Collingwood man has been charged in connection with an historical sexual assault case allegedly involving young hockey players in Mississauga.

Police alledge that in the early 1980’s, the suspect, while working as a volunteer house league hockey coach, assaulted at least two male players.

The man worked with the Applewood Minor Hockey Association and the Mississauga Minor Hockey League predominately at the Dixie Arena and Cawthra Park Arena.  

Paul Rodgers is facing two counts of indecent assault on a male and two counts of gross indecency.

Police say they are concerned there may be other victims and are asking anyone who may have been victimized by the suspect to contact them.
