Toronto teen who sang Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’ dies

Olivia Wise, the Toronto teen who made international headlines when she recorded a video of herself singing Katy Perry’s Roar, has died.

Her family said she died peacefully in her home on Monday.

Wise suffered from brain cancer and when she recorded the video at a local music studio she could not stand for the performance. She was so weak, she had to sit down.

The video drew the attention of Perry who posted a response to Wise saying she was “very moved” by the video and Wise “sounded great.”

The Liv Wise fund was set up to support children living with brain tumours.
