Toronto Police identified the victim of the city’s latest homicide following a late-night shooting in the downtown core on Saturday.
Police were called to the area of Church Street and Bloor Street East just before 11 p.m. following reports of multiple shots fired near a fast-food restaurant.
When they arrived, they discovered a male victim without vital signs suffering from “very serious injuries.” He was later pronounced dead in hospital, police confirm.
“Unfortunately, the man did succumb to his injuries in hospital,” Const. Laura Brabant tells CityNews. “Homicide is now investigating.”
Police identified the man as 20-year-old Olivier Dundas of Toronto. Investigators say sometime after the shooting, three men were seen running eastbound on the south side of Bloor Street East towards Sherbourne Street.
They’re urging anyone with additional information or dashcam footage to come forward.
