Toronto Waterfront Marathon road closures: How it will impact your drive

The TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon is taking place in-person this weekend for the first time since 2019, which means there will be plenty of road closures (see below) for downtown drivers to navigate.

The marathoners will start at Queen and University and finish the race at Nathan Phillips Square but the course will take runners as far west as High Park and as far east as the Beaches.

There will be major road closures in place on sections of University, Bloor, Bathurst, Lakeshore, Queen, and more.

While the majority of road closures go into effect on Sunday, the official race day, the entire weekend will have different activities and some closures start at 7 a.m. on Saturday.

The event aims to raise funds for over 100 different charities this fall. The marathon was a virtual event the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
