Man armed with knife assaulted TTC constable at Spadina Station: police

Toronto police continue to search for a man who allegedly assaulted a TTC special constable at Spadina Station last month.

Authorities said TTC officers responded to the subway station, located in The Annex, for reports of a man armed with a knife at around 11:30 p.m. on August 31.

Police said when the special constables arrived, it’s believed the man was in possession of a knife. The officers approached the man, and he gestured that he had the knife in his pocket.

As the officers attempted to arrest the suspect, he fled and struck one of them in the head with his backpack. The special constable was not seriously injured.

The man is described as 35 to 45 years old, around six-foot-one, with a medium build and a black beard.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, pants, sneakers, a black cap with a blue brim, and black and yellow over-the-ear headphones.
