Police hunt driver who fled after crashing into tree in Etobicoke

TORONTO, Ont. – Police are hunting for a driver who fled the scene after crashing into a tree in Etobicoke.
Police dogs were brought in to help with the search, after the crash happened around 5 a.m. near Steeles Avenue and Martin Grove Road.
The driver managed to escape and police are continuing their search.
Nearly two hours earlier, another driver was arrested for allegedly driving while impaired. That driver hit a pole with his car near O’Connor Drive and Broadview Avenue.
He was taken to St. Michael’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
In a third incident, at about 1 a.m. a car ran into a pole at the intersection of Danforth Avenue and Danforth Road, just west of Warden Avenue.
Police have not yet said whether charges will be laid in that case.
