About Natasha
Natasha Ramsahai is the Chief Meteorologist for CityNews and can also be seen and heard on 680 News Radio and Breakfast Television. Prior to CityNews she was one of the Senior Meteorologists at the CBC News Weather Centre. She was key to the creation of the CBC National Weather Centre from 2004-2005. After it launched, she specialized in national, international and local Toronto coverage for CBC News, as well as weather reports for travelers at some of Canada's largest airports. She was also the sole Meteorologist on CBC Radio One's Metro Morning. In between CBC radio and television, Natasha leapt to Toronto1 as the Meteorologist for its morning show, Toronto Today.
Natasha was born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario. After earning an Honours B.Sc. in Environmental Science from the University of Toronto, Scarborough Campus in 1998, Natasha took on a variety of weather and broadcast oriented jobs - including job-shadowing a Toronto TV weatherman right here at CityTV as a student, summer interning at The Weather Network and a two-year stint as a University of Toronto campus radio host for a hip-hop/r&b/reggae show on CIUT 89.5 fm - while earning her Masters degree in Earth and Space Science (Meteorology) from York University (2001). While at the Weather Network, she earned the title of full-time Operational Meteorologist and Briefer, and eventually, On-air Meteorologist.
Natasha is an accredited member of the American Meteorological Society. She volunteers her time with a number or organizations including Easter Seals Ontario, Habitat For Humanity and the Daily Bread Food Bank. When she’s not looking up at the sky, Natasha spends time with friends and family including her two teenagers. She can usually be found at the gym, dancing, travelling somewhere hot or enjoying the latest restaurant in the city.
