An elderly pedestrian has died following a crash.
The 85-year-old woman, who has not been identified, passed away in hospital after the Tuesday afternoon collision.
Her death marks the city’s 37th traffic fatality of the year.
Police were called to the intersection of Midland Avenue and Lord Roberts Drive around 2:46pm.
It’s believed that the victim was crossing Midland from west to east when she was struck by a Nissan SUV.
Officers allege that the SUV was heading west on Gilder Avenue before attempting to turn left onto Midland.
That’s when, police believe, the driver struck the pedestrian.
She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
