Marathons close roads in Toronto, Mississauga this weekend

Several road closures will be in place on Sunday for the GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon.
Thousands are expected to take part in the marathon, half-marathon and 5K which raises money for local and national charities.
The event has been a Toronto tradition for 35 years.
The main segment of the race will take place on Yonge Street from Finch Avenue to Davenport Road.
It began at the North York Civic Centre at 7:30 a.m. but road closures were in effect starting at 5 a.m.
Some lane restrictions will also be in place in the area bounded by Bayview Avenue in the east, South Kingsway in the west, Lake Shore Boulevard in the south and Finch Avenue in the north.
The following ramps on the Gardiner Expressway and the Don Valley Parkway will also be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. to accommodate runners:
- Gardiner Expressway eastbound off-ramp to Jarvis Street: access to Jarvis Street will be closed; access to Lake Shore Boulevard will remain open.
- Gardiner Expressway westbound off-ramp at Spadina Avenue: access to westbound Lake Shore Boulevard will be closed.
- Gardiner Expressway westbound on-ramp to Spadina Avenue: access to westbound Lake Shore Boulevard will be closed.
- Don Valley Parkway Bayview/Bloor off-ramp to southbound Bayview Avenue will be closed.
Businesses along the marathon route will be open to pedestrian traffic.
Those headed downtown are being encouraged to take public transportation.

MISSISSAUGA MARATHON
And in Mississauga, the following roads will be closed for Sunday’s marathon:
- City Centre Drive closed from Robert Speck Parkway to Living Arts Drive from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m.
- Burnhamthorpe Road West closed from Duke of York Boulevard to Mississauga Road from 7 a.m. to 8:40 a.m.
- Mississauga Road closed from Burnhamthorpe Road West to Indian Road from 7:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m.
- Indian Road closed from Mississauga Road to Lorne Park Road from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Lorne Park Road closed from Indian Road to Truscott Drive from 8:15 a.m to 11 a.m.
- Truscott Drive closed from Lorne Park Road to Southdown Road from 8:15 a.m. to 11:10 a.m.
- Southdown Road closed from Truscott Drive to Lakeshore Road East from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Orr Road closed from Southdown Road to Meadow Wood Road from 8:45 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Meadow Wood Road closed from Orr Road to Lakeshore Road West from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Lakeshore Road West closed from Meadow Wood Road to Owenwood Drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Parkland Avenue closed from 9:15 a.m. to 1:20 p.m.
- Lakeshore Road West closed before Lorne Park Road to Ben Machree Drive from 9:30 a.m. to 1:50 p.m.
- Ben Machree Drive closed from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Front Street South closed from 9:30 a.m. to 2:10 p.m.
- Lakeshore Road East closed from Front Street South to Stavebank Road South from 9:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.
- Stavebank Road South closed from 9:40 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Port Street East closed from Stavebank Road South to St Lawrence Drive from 9:40 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- South end of Elmwood Avenue South closed from 9:40 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Wanita Road closed from Elmwood Street South to Cumberland Drive from 9:50 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.
- Cumberland Drive closed South East of Wanita Road from 9:50 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.
- Lakefront Promenade closed from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
