Raptors made it official they have signed Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley to five-year deals. CityNews' Sports Reporter Lindsay Dunn hears from both players.

All-star forward Scottie Barnes and point guard Immanuel Quickley have officially re-signed with the Toronto Raptors.

The Raptors announced this morning that Barnes signed an extension and Quickley re-signed with the team. Per team policy, the financial details of the multi-year contracts were not announced.

Media reports say that Barnes agreed to a five-year US$224.9 million deal starting in the 2025-26 season.

Quickley reportedly agreed to a five-year, $175 million contract.

The deals were announced at a news conference attended by Raptors president Masai Ujiri as well as Toronto players Gradey Dick, Bruce Brown, and Ochai Agbaji.

Barnes, who will turn 23 in August, was selected fourth overall by the Raptors in the 2021 NBA Draft and has since blossomed into one of the best young bigs in the league.

He won Rookie of the Year in 2021-22 and was named an NBA All-Star for the first time this past season. Under new head coach Darko Rajakovic, the 22-year-old improved in numerous statistical categories, including points per game (19.9), assists per game (6.1), rebounds per game (8.1), and three-point percentage (.341).

“Today is a special day for the Raptors organization. We are so proud of Scottie for the player and leader he has become over his first three seasons. I’ve said before that he is the type of player you build a team around. Well, we are doing that,” Ujiri said.

Barnes appeared and started in 60 games this year. He was shut down in March after fracturing his hand in a game against the Golden State Warriors and missed the final 22 regular season games.

Quickley was traded to Toronto in late December as part of the move that also brought RJ Barrett to the Raptors and sent OG Anunoby to the New York Knicks. Quickley started all 38 of his appearances with the Raptors, averaging 18.6 points and 6.8 assists in those games.

Quickley scored 25 or more points 11 times last season, 10 of which came after he was traded to Toronto. He also had six or more assists on 24 occasions, 22 of which came after the trade.

“Immanuel embodies so many things that are important to our team. He’s incredible — smart, athletic, driven. He works so hard. He loves the game of basketball,” Ujiri said. “And ultimately? He wants to win, and he will be a Raptor for years to come.”

The Raptors recently agreed to rookie-scale contracts with Ja’Kobe Walter, Jonathan Mogbo, Jamal Shead and Ulrich Chomche.

The Raptors selected Walter with the 19th overall pick of last month’s NBA draft. Mogbo was selected 31st overall, while Shead was drafted 45th overall and traded to the Raptors from the Sacramento Kings.

Mogbo and Shead signed three-year contracts under the NBA’s new second-round exception.
